WEBWIRE

San Diego.- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] today announced it is committing $150,000 for wildfire relief in California.

A donation of $100,000 will go to the American Red Cross’ wildfire relief fund. Additionally, the corporation will award two “United in Gratitude” grants to support the military families impacted by the fires. Operation Homefront will receive $30,000, which will go to military families in the form of cash grants and gift cards. The United Service Organizations (USO) will receive $20,000 to support its mobile canteen, which is being deployed to the area.

“The fires we are witnessing demonstrate the devastating power of nature, but they also reveal the best in people who are responding from many different regions to lend a hand,” said Robert J. Stevens, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Lockheed Martin is actively involved in the area, with approximately 5,700 employees who live and work in the affected counties, mostly supporting military customers. As of today, most employees have been accounted for, and there have been no reports of injuries to them. More than 200 of the corporation’s employees are currently evacuated from their homes.

Due to the extraordinary set of circumstances in this unfolding crisis, the corporation has also activated the Lockheed Martin Employee Disaster Relief Fund to provide assistance to displaced employees.
