Hitachi High-Technologies, Princeton Technology and TOWA Engineering to Offer LifeSize’s Breakthrough High Definition Video Communications Products in Japan

AUSTIN, TX - October 31, 2005 - LifeSize, the high definition video communications company, today announced that it has entered the Japanese market with the addition of three video communications resellers to its channel partner program. Hitachi High-Technologies, Princeton Technology and TOWA Engineering will market, sell and support the LifeSize suite of high definition video and audio products in Japan. LifeSize now has nine resellers in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region covering markets in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.

“We are very pleased to be partnering with LifeSize given the advanced video communications technology they are bringing to the market,” said Noriyuki Hioki, General Manager - Information and Digital Products Division - Hitachi High-Technologies. “With several years of experience in videoconferencing along with our skilled engineering team, we are confident of being able to expand user demand in Japan with LifeSize’s high definition video communications products.”

“Companies in Japan have been waiting to implement videoconferencing systems until there was notably better quality technology available to them,” said George Ikeda, CEO of Princeton Technology. “We are excited to partner with LifeSize and introduce its high definition video communications products to the market, as it will most certainly revolutionize distance communications among all types of Japanese organizations.”

“We are honored to have a partnership with LifeSize and be able to now bring high definition video communications to Japan,” said Eriko Niikura, CEO and President of TOWA Engineering. “Our customers represent many prominent companies in the education, entertainment and financial services industries, and they will realize tremendous value from using this breakthrough technology.”

According to Wainhouse Research, Japan has consistently ranked among the top four markets for group videoconferencing systems dollar sales, just behind the U.S., China and the UK. In a recent study conducted by Frost and Sullivan, it was reported that APAC is experiencing good growth in videoconferencing end points as a result of the proliferation of IP-based networks and the relatively low penetration of ISDN networks.

“The Japanese market provides an excellent opportunity for LifeSize so we are very pleased to have three outstanding resellers offering our products in Japan,” said Craig Malloy, CEO of LifeSize. “We expect APAC to represent one third of all our video communications products sales worldwide which means the impact that our channel partners can have in growing their businesses, while contributing to LifeSize’s success, will be significant.”

LifeSize channel partners are selected based on their extensive experience and knowledge of the video communications market, as well as their ability to provide exceptional customer service and support. All partners have access to a number of LifeSize programs and tools, including a secure partner portal for ordering products, accessing sales, support and marketing materials, receiving leads, and tracking orders and trouble tickets.
