LOUISVILLE, KY - KFC’s new Triple Dip Strips are perfect for dipping on the go and thanks to a 20-year-old college student with a fondness for extreme challenges, they’re being put to the test. University of Louisville student Will Baumgardner answered an ad in his school newspaper and now stars alongside the KFC Colonel on the www.willitspill.com web site. Will’s challenge: Find out if Triple Dip Strips will spill or not.

“Making it possible for our customers to ’dip on the go’ was a high priority as we developed this product,” said James O’Reilly, chief marketing officer for KFC. “Everyone loves the taste of our Colonel’s Crispy Strips, but thanks to our new packaging, the Strips and sauces are even more portable. We recruited Will to help us test the extreme limits of portability.”

Baumgardner answered an ad in the Louisville Cardinal because he met KFC’s simple requirements: applicants must be named Will (or Bill, William, Wilbur or even Wilma) and they must be up for extreme challenges. In subsequent interviews with KFC, Baumgardner stressed that he was the man for the job, and he was willing to have the video cameras roll while he tried to prove it.

Baumgardner, who wears an “I’m Not Chicken” t-shirt for the scenes, was eager to face the most extreme challenges. From rock climbing and riding a mechanical bull to performing a high dive and extreme golf ball collecting, the Finance major threw himself into every challenge. Working behind the scenes was the KFC Colonel, who put the product - and Will - to the test.

The first two “Will It Spill?” challenges are posted on www.willitspill.com and more challenges will be posted in the coming weeks. Visitors to the site can vote on whether or not each challenge will end with a spill.

KFC’s Triple Dip Strips include three all-white meat Colonel’s Crispy Strips and a choice of three of six tasty sauces for just $2.99. The breakthrough packaging of KFC’s Triple Dip Strips keeps the sauce containers in place, making it easy to dip the Strips with no mess.
