9th annual RBC Canadian Painting Competition to visit Winnipeg

RBC, The Canadian Art Foundation and The Winnipeg Art Gallery would like to invite you to preview the RBC Canadian Painting Competition Exhibition at a reception at the gallery in Winnipeg on October 30, 2007. The exhibition features artwork from Eastern, Central and Western Canada.

Several recognized artists from Western Canada, whose works form part of the exhibit, will be in attendance including this year’s national winner, Vancouver’s Arabella Campbell, who was awarded $25,000, Calgary’s Chris Millar who received an honourable mention and was awarded $15,000, as well as Eli Bornowsky of Vancouver, Angus Ferguson of Vancouver and Shaun Morin of Winnipeg.

With a total of $55,000 in prize money, the RBC Canadian Painting Competition has Canada’s largest arts award disbursement for painting. The artists will be on hand to participate in one-on-one interviews.
