San Antonio, Texas.-Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam — AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has announced a donation of US$20,000 (VN dong 320 million) to the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (CNCF) to help improve the lives of impoverished children in Vietnam. Founded in 1991, CNCF is an international organization dedicated to helping children in need with education, medical care, social opportunities and job placement assistance.

Since its inception, CNCF has helped more than 400,000 children through a wide variety of projects in Vietnam and Mongolia. As part of its work in Vietnam, CNCF has established a medical centre in Ho Chi Minh City for abandoned and malnourished children. In 2006, AT&T donated US$20,000 to support the Educational Assistance Programme in Vietnam and other locations. In 2005, AT&T donated US$10,000 to a team that conquered Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world, to raise money for and awareness of CNCF.

“AT&T is committed to giving, inclusion and social responsibility,” said Raymond Ng, AT&T Vietnam general manager. “We pledge to help make the communities in which we live and work as strong and vibrant as they can be. AT&T extended its global network to Vietnam last year, so we are honoured to help CNCF directly improve the lives of so many underprivileged children in Vietnam.”

“We are extremely grateful for AT&T’s ongoing support of CNCF,” said Nicholas Pistolas, director of CNCF. “With the funding from AT&T, we are able to give more abandoned children in Vietnam their childhood back. This generous gift will help us continue our campaign for children’s rights across the world so that they can all enjoy the benefits of a happy, healthy and safe childhood.”

Mr. Ng paid a visit to Vietnam on Sept. 21, 2007, where he officiated at a donation ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City and presented the US$20,000 cheque to Mr. Pistolas of CNCF.
