Hormel Foods Corporation (NYSE: HRL) announces the donation of more than 99,000 cans of protein to America’s Second Harvest—The Nation’s Food Bank Network for the continued hunger relief of people around the nation.

The products—Hormel® chunk ham and Black Label® luncheon loaf—are shelf-stable, fully cooked and versatile. Hormel® chunk ham can be used to add protein and flavor to a variety of dishes, such as pasta dishes and salads or as a baked potato topper. Each 10-ounce can of Hormel® chunk ham contains five servings. Black Label® luncheon loaf is ideal for breakfast dishes, casseroles and sandwiches. Each 12-ounce can of Black Label® luncheon loaf contains six servings of ham.

“This ham donation should help families during the upcoming holiday season,” said Jeffrey M. Ettinger, chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer. “Our continued support of hunger initiatives demonstrates how corporations can become involved and make a difference in the fight against hunger.”

This announcement follows a donation of over 100,000 ready-to-eat meals and chunk breast of chicken in September.
