* BASF scoops prize for best digital employee and information system

BASF is the winner of the Digital Signage Best Practice Award for its global employee and information system BASF Today. The award was presented at the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication (VISCOM) in Düsseldorf, Germany. The Best Practice Award pays tribute to innovative, efficiently planned and creatively implemented digital signage applications. BASF Today convinced the selection committee above all by its international scope.

Digital signage means the presentation of information through the use of digital or electronic displays. Digital signage solutions communicate information to visitors, interested parties, passers-by, employees and customers. Digital signage enables rapid, targeted updating of digital media elements and messages. It also accommodates cultural and language differences.

This is how BASF Today works: 40-inch screens display company and industry news as well as items of general interest. Videos and livestreams, business data and stock market trends round off the offering. BASF Today starts up at 7:30 a.m. every day with the latest text messages, enhanced and updated during the day.

BASF Today is for all BASF Group employees. The display stands are positioned in prominent locations on company premises, such as entrance gates, canteens, and the newly inaugurated visitors’ center at Ludwigshafen. BASF Today thus gives visitors, customers and business partners a real insight into The Chemical Company.

Thirty BASF Today displays have been installed since September 2006 at BASF locations in Germany, Europe, Asia and the USA. Other European sites are to be hooked up to the BASF Today system very soon.
