Orange County Proposed Housing Supply at 85,005 units, Q3, 2007

Orange County, California- Future proposed supply in Orange County now totals 85,005 homes, ranging from tracts with no entitlements to final maps currently grading, according to MarketPointe Realty Advisors ResidentialTrends recent publication. This is split into 44 percent single-family attached homes, 23 percent single-family detached homes, and 14 percent multi-family homes. There are also 16,213 homes or 19 percent that are early in the conceptual stage and the mix is currently unknown.
Of the proposed attached supply by submarket, Anaheim/Tustin (44 percent) and Newport Beach/Irvine (34 percent) have the majority of the homes; Garden Grove/Santa Ana (13 percent), Mission Viejo/Aliso Viejo (8 percent), and Laguna Niguel/San Clemente (less than 1 percent) round out the proposed attached homes.
The largest percentages of proposed detached homes are located in Newport Beach/Irvine (44 percent), and Anaheim/Tustin (31 percent); Mission Viejo/Aliso Viejo (15 percent), Laguna Niguel/San Clemente (7 percent) and Garden Grove/Santa Ana (3 percent) round out the proposed detached homes.
