The board of directors for the Latin Chamber of Commerce of U.S.A. (CAMACOL), tonight, named Terra Network’s Fernando Rodriguez as Executive of the Year. Rodriguez was recognized not only for his professional expertise and efforts, but also for the impact he has made on the economic development of the community.

As CEO of Terra Networks, Fernando oversees the U.S. operations with headquarters based in Miami and offices in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. He has played a vital role in the growth of the organization and in consolidating Terra.com’s position as the leading Internet portal for the U.S. Hispanic market.

“CAMACOL is very proud to recognize Fernando Rodriguez, CEO of Terra Networks for his outstanding achievements in 2007 and Terra Networks for its success in the national and international Hispanic market,” stated William Alexander, President of CAMACOL.

CAMACOL, the largest Hispanic chamber of commerce in the Greater Miami area and one of the most reputable in the nation, presented Rodriguez with the Executive of the Year 2007 award as part of the CAMACOL 42nd Anniversary Gala Dinner. CAMACOL was founded in 1965 by a small group of Hispanic entrepreneurs who desired to protect their business interests, foster commercial growth and contribute to the economic and social development of the South Florida community.

Rodriguez is a founding member of the team that launched Terra.com in Miami in the year 2000. Under his leadership, Terra.com has enjoyed both audience and revenue growth, of which many clients are Fortune 500 reaching Hispanics through Terra. He developed alliances with strategic partners including Comcast, Azteca America, V-me, Televisa and Gol TV. Such partnerships have created superior content, generated sales opportunities and increased Terra.com’s brand recognition. In June, Terra Networks reached 2,113,000 unique visitors which represent 12.8 percent of all U.S. Hispanic Internet users . This is a tremendous achievement for Terra Networks within the overall U.S. Internet landscape, and is a testament to the growing influence of U.S. Hispanics, who are the largest domestic online and offline ethnicity.

Rodriguez is a director of Telefonica Finance U.S.A. and is a member of both the Terra Latin America Executive and Strategy Committees. He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and has participated in the IESE Business School and Harvard Business School executive programs.
