WEBWIRE

ARMONK, NY .-Aria Systems is beginning its migration to IBM (NYSE: IBM) servers to power its on-demand billing and customer management solutions for the online games market.
Aria Systems is planning to introduce IBM System x and IBM BladeCenter server platforms for their hosted servers in San Francisco and eventually at the company’s data center near Philadelphia. Game developers and distributors will benefit from Aria’s highly scalable IBM server capabilities combined with Aria’s sophisticated back-office functionality in the development of single games, or in support of multiple titles.

The company is looking to IBM System x and IBM BladeCenter to save space, increase density and decrease power consumption, while lowering total cost and improving infrastructure flexibility. IBM’s extensive experience meeting the unique needs of online game companies also was a key factor in the decision to phase in a migration to IBM hardware.

“The most successful game developers understand that impressive graphics and technology can only take you so far if you can’t support players from a customer management and billing standpoint,” said Ed Sullivan, CEO & Founder of Aria Systems. “The IBM System x and BladeCenter platforms’ scalability and attractive price to performance ratio are unmatched in bringing our gaming industry clients the on-demand payment capabilities upon which they depend.”
