Nortel Government Solutions Approved to Integrate ID Verification Systems

WASHINGTON – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has approved Nortel Government Solutions*, a U.S. company wholly owned by Nortel* [NYSE/TSX: NT], as a provider of integration services for personal identity verification (PIV) systems compliant with Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 (HSPD-12).


This presidential directive requires all federal executive departments and agencies to secure access to facilities and information systems by implementing a government-wide standard for employee and contractor identification.

GSA has added Nortel Government Solutions HSPD-12 integration services to GSA Multiple Award Schedule Contract Number GS-35F-4366G as part of Special Item Number 132-62. This contract is available for use by all Federal agencies and other eligible organizations.

Nortel Government Solutions has an in-depth understanding of HSPD-12, the supporting special publications from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the GSA’s requirements for PIV services, products and interoperability. This expertise can be leveraged to provide end-to-end, vendor independent identity verification solutions.
