WEBWIRE

IPC Inspire today announces a major redesign – and a new editor – for its youth football monthly, Shoot.

The redesigned Shoot features a brand new masthead and a new character, Shooty, helping guide readers through a raft of new editorial franchises.

The all-new editorial package includes activity features, jokes, amazing facts, posters, funny pictures and quizzes – all celebrating the sheer excitement young fans feel for the sport.

The new Shoot is dedicated to bringing the best of football to its 8-12 year-old readership. New sections – including interviews where readers can ask their own questions – jaw-dropping facts and how-to pages, make Shoot the magazine that gets readers closer to the world of their heroes.

The magazine is also accompanied by a fresh new website www.shoot.co.uk, offering the best footy downloads, games and skill tips.

The redesign has been spearheaded by Shoot’s deputy editor Frank Tennyson, who is today named editor, replacing Colin Mitchell who takes on the new role of executive editor of Shoot and sister title World Soccer as well as the portfolio’s rapidly expanding brand extension program.

Frank says, “The new Shoot is the loudest, brightest, funniest, naughtiest and most fact-filled magazine on the market. That’s been the promise from day one, and I genuinely believe that we’ve delivered on that promise! I’m confident the new Shoot will build on the great brand heritage we already enjoy and go from strength to strength.”

The new Shoot is the culmination of months of editorial research and development work, and represents a significant investment in IPC Inspire’s already significant share of the football market.

Publishing director, Hamish Dawson says, "The re-launch of Shoot arose initially from an honest reappraisal of the existing market position of Shoot, and where the opportunities for market and brand growth might exist

“What’s especially gratifying about the development process is that we were able to tap into the wealth of expertise that now exists in many different parts of IPC where launches and re-launches have already taken place. And in Frank Tennyson, we already had an editorial champion with a new vision for the brand.”

The first issue of the new look Shoot is on sale today, September 25, and is supported with a free Champions league Fact Book and Wallchart as well as free Premiership stickers, and extensive retail activity.
