IT Market Expected to Double Within Four Years.

— Muscovites who want the leading computer products and services from Dell and advice on how to best use them at home or in their small businesses will soon have a place to go where Dell computers are sold exclusively.

The store is scheduled to open early next month on the second floor in the new Gorbuskin Dvor retail center in Moscow. It will feature notebooks, desktops, servers, printers and other products from Dell, and staffed by specialists trained specifically about Dell products and applications. In addition to selling Inspiron products for home use, the store will demonstrate Dell Vostro products and servers designed specifically to help simplify IT for small businesses. The store will be managed by Nexus, a Dell Partner.

Michael Dell, chairman and CEO, announced the opening of the new store in a media briefing in Moscow today.

“Russia’s rapidly growing computer market is reflected by the 800 percent growth in the number of Internet users over the past seven years to approximately 28 million. Dell is making additional investments in its business in Russia – both products and services – to meet the growing needs of the country’s IT market, which is expected to double over the next four years,” Mr. Dell said.

Dell products will be demonstrated in the store, allowing customers to learn more about the products and what will be the best choice for their particular requirements. In addition to products, the store will also have a service outlet for handling warranty repairs on Dell products.

Dell products are sold at other retail locations in Moscow along with product from other computer companies. This store is the first in the city and only the second store in Europe to be dedicated to selling only Dell product.

The Moscow store is the latest in Dell’s plans to reach more customers globally through partnerships with retailers. Other recent announcements have included offerings in Wal-Mart and Sam’s Clubs in North and South America, Bic Camera Inc. of Japan and Carphone Warehouse in the United Kingdom.
