FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif.— D-Link Systems Inc., the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumers and business, today announced membership in the Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA™), an open, industry-driven initiative promoting distribution of digital video, data and entertainment through existing coaxial cable in the home.

MoCA, which operates under reasonable and non-discriminatory licensing (RAND) terms, provides backbone technology for whole home entertainment networks of multiple wired and wireless products, according to MoCA President Charlie Cerino.

Added D-Link chief technology officer AJ Wang, “MoCA is rapidly becoming recognized in the consumer arena and represents a powerful technology that complements our existing line of home networking solutions for the digital home.”

D-Link designs, develops and manufacturers networking, broadband, digital electronics, voice, data and video communications products for the digital home, SOHO, SMB and larger enterprise markets. The company’s products span a variety of technologies from wireline to wireless, and are based on prevailing and accepted industry standards.

“Our strategy has consistently aimed at embracing industry partners committed to make the networking life of the average consumer less confusing and time consuming,” said Cerino. “D-Link’s membership is continued proof that MoCA’s ease of use, no new wires, and product availability through retail outlets philosophy is a standard on the move.”
