Import Safety Message from EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson

EPA applauds the report of the Interagency Working Group, which will help strengthen the Bush Administration’s efforts to develop smarter, more comprehensive solutions to import safety. Through greater collaboration, improved technology, and more focused enforcement, EPA will better ensure America’s imports are safe for consumers and comply with our tough environmental standards. EPA has a history of preventing and reducing the risks of illegal imports, and this report will help us make the message clear: America will not tolerate the importation of harmful products or goods.
