100-Year-Old Tubular and Bar Supplier to Increase Efficiency and Flexibility With AT&T Services

Bolingbrook, Illinois.-AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced a two-year network services contract with Marmon/Keystone Corp., a Butler, Pa.-based tubular and bar supplier with offices in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Marmon/Keystone, which was established in 1907 and is a member of The Marmon Group, supplies more than 15,000 sizes and grades of tubular and bar products.

Under terms of the agreement, AT&T will provide its Private Network Transport (PNT) services to 35 Marmon/Keystone U.S. locations. This network solution is deployed over AT&T’s Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) infrastructure and will allow Marmon/Keystone to improve its productivity through data-traffic prioritization and increased network reliability. The MPLS platform also enables seamless high speed connectivity from multiple locations with optimized network efficiency.

The company’s AT&T-managed PNT services will provide a flexible foundation to accommodate future enterprise expansion for Marmon/Keystone and will allow the company to deploy Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology in the future.

“The new network from AT&T’s network solutions will enable us to provide the same reliable and efficient service to our customers while increasing performance for our next century of service.” said Alavi Aboosally, director, M.I.S. “With increased productivity and reliable connectivity, AT&T’s MPLS-based services adds further flexibility and value to our growing business operations.”
