Delphi Showcases Its Broad Range of Controls & Security Products at IAA

TROY, Mich., — Delphi Corporation’s (PINKSHEETS: DPHIQ) security systems, body computer modules, electronic displays, and mechatronics products are being displayed at this year’s IAA (Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung) in Frankfurt, Germany, from September 11 through 23 in Hall 5.1, Stand No. A04.

A critical interface between the driver and the vehicle, these controls and security products offer consumers information, convenience and protection.

Delphi’s Controls & Security product business unit provides OEMs with product differentiation that enhances cockpit aesthetics and provides added conveniences, vital information and added security that can influence consumers’ buying habits.

Delphi will showcase many products that address the needs of the OEMs and the consumer that include:

Column Integrated Modules

Delphi’s controls and security portfolio includes column integrated systems that start from simple stalk switch applications and go to the sophisticated designs that include electronic interface. Delphi’s systems already include electronic gateways with vehicle multiplex network, gear shift control and steering angle sensors. Delphi is preparing the next generation of column integrated modules to be X-by-wire-ready and include applications offering the integration of steering angle sensors that could possibly interface with flex-ray bus.

Vehicle Access Systems

Delphi provides vehicle access systems that provide added convenience and improve vehicle protection. These solutions start from simple key fob systems and go to full keyless entry applications where Delphi provides OEMs with complete system support to achieve final vehicle level performance and robustness.

Delphi’s latest offering is a bi-directional key fob that provides car-to-user and user-to-car communication to inform the user on the status of various functions in the car. Deep expertise in vehicle wireless communication enables Delphi to propose optimum range performance to the OEM. Delphi’s bi-directional key fob system also provides long range possibilities on the car to user communication and a controlled range on the user-to-car communication.

Instrumentation Cluster

Instrument clusters provide key, critical information to the driver in a user-friendly manner. Delphi offers a complete range of these products with innovative solutions and many styling cues. Delphi’s instrumentation can provide color reconfigurable lighting that offers the driver the ability to personalize the car’s interior environment.

Integrated Center Panel

First introduced on the Jaguar XK, Delphi’s one-piece Integrated Center Panel helps OEMs lower cost and simplify designs. This Delphi innovation replaces separate HVAC, radio, entertainment, communications, accessory and other functional switches with a single mechatronic module. The one-piece design offers significant cost savings when compared with the cost of individually installed components. It reduces wiring harness cost and mass, while providing a uniform look in the interior.

Delphi’s Integrated Center Panel is available with touch screen and traditional switching interfaces. Delphi can integrate switch functions for a centrally mounted touch screen that allows for intuitive selection of climate, audio, navigation, telephone and vehicle personalization settings.

Roof Module

Delphi’s roof modules are integrated seamlessly into the vehicle and offer more convenience to consumers. The products integrate functionality such as switches, interior lighting, intrusion detection and cameras in the roof environment.

Seat Module

The Delphi seat module combines the latest electronic control technology to provide added convenience to the driver when adjusting seats to add to ergonomic comfort in the cockpit.

Delphi’s complete product portfolio includes a wide range of products from standalone switching configurations to solutions integrating full electronic control and multiplex interface. With considerable knowledge in vehicle architecture, Delphi provides the expertise to help optimize configuration of seat control switches to offer excellent performance at a low cost, including consideration of the percentage of vehicles that will use a particular seating arrangement.

Theft Protection Systems

The Delphi theft protection product family includes immobilizer solutions, intrusion detection, and inclination sensing and alert siren with applications that fully comply with existing and future planned regulations to help provide drivers peace of mind. Delphi offers OEM solutions which are integrated into the vehicle’s electrical architecture taking into consideration performance, cost and space.

Body Computers

Delphi is a world leader in body computer technology, leveraging its expertise in vehicle architecture and managing information and data flow throughout the vehicle.
