LaCie Announces Opening of its Middle East Operations

• Dedicated professionals targeting solely the Middle East

Dubai (September 2007) – LaCie S.A., the French headquartered, leading storage solution maker, announced the opening of their Middle East operations in the Dubai Airport Free Zone. LaCie Middle East FZE will provide sales, marketing, customer support, warranty and stock logistics to customers across the Middle East through a dedicated team of professionals based in Dubai.

“The Middle East is one of the fastest growing regions for value added products, such as external storage, for both consumer and professional applications. With growing market maturity and demand increase for high quality and better designed products, LaCie felt that it was the right time to establish and strengthen its worldwide presence,” said Pierre Van der Elst, LaCie Deputy General Manager.

“With direct presence in the region, LaCie shall be better equipped to react to changing market expectations to provide faster and better customer support,” said Rajeev Mukul, LaCie Vice President of Sales for Asia and Middle East. “The entire Middle East region, especially GCC countries, have seen substantial growth in the number of PC and broadband Internet users in recent years. This growth has created high demand for external storage, both for home and the small and medium business segment.”

LaCie Middle East plans to establish close relationships with both traditional and organized retail segments and shall reach, train and develop VAR channels to integrate its products in a number of storage related solutions. While distributors continue to add significant value to its products in the region, LaCie will work closely with B2C customers to educate PC users on the benefits of safeguarding data and the necessity of using reliable external storage devices.

LaCie expects to start shipping goods from its DAFZA facility in Q4 of 2007.
