More Colorado Customers Now Have Access to High-speed Wireless Internet, E-mail, Mobile Music, Videos, and More.

DENVER, CO — Wireless customers in the western part of the Centennial state now have access to the latest high-speed business and entertainment services on their wireless phones, laptop computers and other wireless devices thanks to Verizon Wireless.

The new capabilities come with the expansion of the company’s Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Revision (Rev.) A network to more western slope communities, enabling both its BroadbandAccess and V CAST services. The company expanded its high-speed wireless data network earlier this year to include Grand Junction.

BroadbandAccess
The company’s enhanced high-speed wireless service, with average download speeds of 600 kilobits per second (kbps) to 1.4 megabits, is geared towards mobile professionals, business customers and on-the-go students. BroadbandAccess users have the ability to get their corporate information as if they were attached to the information via a high-speed wired connection but with the freedom of true mobility. For example, customers with Rev. A-compatible devices can download a 1 Megabyte e-mail attachment – the equivalent of a small PowerPoint® presentation or a large PDF file – in about eight seconds and upload the same-sized file in less than 13 seconds.

V CAST
The company’s consumer-oriented multimedia service offers V CAST subscribers music and short content on demand, including cutting-edge 3D games, music, videos, news, weather, and sports.

“The broadband network expansion has something for everyone on-the-go,” said Melanie Braidich, regional president of Verizon Wireless. “BroadbandAccess lets our business customers experience a truly untethered mobile office experience. With V CAST, consumers have access to the most comprehensive selection of downloadable music, high-quality videos and the coolest 3D games found anywhere.”

Coverage
With this recent expansion, western Colorado coverage now includes:

* Glenwood Springs area, including the I-70 corridor and Hot Springs Resort
* Parachute
* Rifle
* New Castle
* De Beque

Verizon Wireless was the first national wireless provider to commercially launch a high-speed wireless broadband network in the United States. Today, its entire nationwide CDMA 1x EV-DO network has been enhanced to Rev. A technology that reaches more than 210 million people.

The company has invested more than $529 million in its Colorado network in the past five years to ensure network reliability and expanded coverage, capacity and capabilities.
