Shooting Times Celebrates 125 Years

WEBWIRE

IPC Inspire’s weekly country sports title Shooting Times is celebrating 125 years with a very special anniversary issue, on sale today.

Shooting Times was first published on September 9, 1882 and is the UK’s longest-standing weekly shooting publication. Offering an authoritative voice on all important issues relating to the game shooting and field sports community, the magazine has a fiercely loyal readership and is committed to delivering the latest news keeping enthusiasts up to date with events in the field sports world.

The content of the special anniversary issue itself includes articles focusing on the history of the magazine and reflections on the past 125 years of field sports. It also has a number of special features which increase its appeal to both regular and occasional readers.

Together with expanded pagination, the magazine will be packaged with a 96-page book, entitled 125 Years of Shooting Times – produced especially for the special birthday – which features extracts of historical and literary significance from the magazine’s own archives.

The magazine’s front cover marks this as a special issue, featuring silver-foil blocking on the masthead and a design that distinguishes it clearly from a regular issue. The magazine and book will be sitma-wrapped with the coverline “125th Anniversary Issue”.

Editor Camilla Clark says: “125 years in continuous production is a remarkable feat for any magazine, particularly a weekly. I am immensely proud of the title and its achievement, and the fact that, in all those years the magazine has retained the same philosophy and values it held way back in 1882.”
