Embarcadero Technologies To Speak At The Pass Summit September 21 In Denver

San Francisco, CA - September 5, 2007 - Embarcadero Technologies, Inc. today announced that Kimber Spradlin, director of product marketing and Scott Walz, director of product management, will speak at the 2007 PASS Community Summit being held September 18 - 21 at the Colorado Convention Center. Embarcadero will be exhibiting in Booth #226.

Spradlin and Walz will discuss “The Changing Role of the SQL Professional” as part of the professional development track on Friday, September 21 from 2:30 - 3:45 p.m. MDT in Room 8.

The discussion will address why today’s SQL Server professionals are more likely to work across the entire database lifecycle than their Oracle or Sybase peers. The presentation will review the results of a recent DBTA Magazine study conducted by Unisphere Research and sponsored by Embarcadero Technologies on the evolving role of today’s data professional.

About the Speakers
Kimber Spradlin has more than 10 years of experience in the Information Security industry and is currently Director of Product Marketing at Embarcadero. Prior to joining Embarcadero, Ms. Spradlin held key positions at NetIQ, where she was responsible for driving the strategy and marketing around the company’s policy-based security products. She also specialized in IT compliance at Ernst & Young, where she helped Fortune 500 organizations meet both regulatory and internal information security requirements. A sought-after speaker, Ms. Spradlin has presented at numerous industry associations and conferences such as ISACA, ISSA, FBI InfraGard, Black Hat, Gartner’s IT Security Summit, and CSI’s Annual Computer Security Conference. Ms. Spradlin has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Baylor University, an MBA from Michigan State, and has received the Certified Public Accounting, the Certified Information Systems Auditor, and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional designations.

Scott Walz has over 15 years of experience in the area of database development. As Director of Product Management at Embarcadero, Mr. Scott oversees the direction of the company’s database development products as well as database research and development for the engineering departments. Prior to joining Embarcadero, Mr. Walz served as a development lead for Louisville Gas & Electric. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Western Kentucky University.
