Xerox Adds The Power Of Pantone® Goe™ To Digital Color Presses; Opens Up New Color Palette To Print Providers


ROCHESTER, N.Y.-- Xerox Corporation’s (NYSE: XRX) digital printing customers will now have access to Pantone Inc.’s new PANTONE Goe System, which helps print providers produce vibrant colors in personalized direct-mail pieces, catalogs, photo books and other marketing collateral.

The PANTONE Goe System is the company’s first completely new color system since its founding more than 45 years ago. It gives designers and printers an entirely new way to choose and accurately produce specific colors. The System, which took more than four years to develop, comes with more than 2,000 new PANTONE colors and works in concert with the original PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM® to deliver exact ways of measuring and communicating color.

The PANTONE System delivers a simple, cross-media tool for color specification and reproduction, ensuring that anyone involved in specifying colors - including printers, designers and publishers - is using the same “language” to define their choices.

The PANTONE Goe System includes a color selection and specification guide, adhesive-backed color chips and an interactive color selection software tool that enables designers to quickly capture and implement their choice of colors and collaborate with others in the production process.

The System features color palettes that resemble color wheels, making it simple to pick and label the right hue for a job. There is also a “palette playground” which lets designers experiment with color choices.

The addition of the PANTONE Goe System is one of several key announcements Xerox is making at Graph Expo North America’s largest printing show, which runs Sept. 9 -12 in Chicago. Xerox will also introduce a host of image-quality and time-saving enhancements to make its digital presses even more productive, as well as software and server improvements to help commercial printers and in-plant operations open up new opportunities in the lucrative digital color market.

Xerox will have PANTONE Goe System color simulations, made using a Xerox FreeFlow™ Print Server and Xerox iGen3™ 110 Digital Production Press, available in booth No. 1219 at Graph Expo.

Digital color printing continues to grow rapidly, and Xerox is at the forefront of the trend, producing more than 30 billion pages on its color presses last year. In fact, Xerox machines account for about 50 percent of the worldwide page volume on high-speed production color printers, according to InfoTrends.

Xerox will make the PANTONE Goe System available to customers in a future release of the Xerox FreeFlow Print Server.
