AT&T Wins Networking Contract From Owens-Illinois

WEBWIRE

TOLEDO, Ohio – AT&T announced today it has won a $7.3 million, three-year networking contract from Owens-Illinois Inc. (O-I), the world’s largest manufacturer of glass containers. The contract extends and expands an existing relationship between the two companies.

Under the contract, AT&T will provide a comprehensive portfolio of data, voice, hosting, Internet access and managed services. While the AT&T solution primarily serves O-I’s North American locations, it will also provide connectivity and continuity to the other regions O-I serves including Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

“AT&T’s reputation and ability to deliver a commercially-viable and technically-rounded solution were key reasons we chose to use them as our single-source for our telecommunication needs,” said Ged Doyle, O-I Global CIO. “The AT&T solution helps us focus on being a better performance-driven, customer and consumer-focused organization.”

O-I also can monitor the performance of its network and applications through AT&T BusinessDirectâ, which provides operational efficiencies including around-the-clock online access to real-time reports on network performance and direct connection to trouble management systems.
