Offers extra services to remittance customers

The Bank of China in reflecting its rapidly expanding business in the remittance market now offers to inform the beneficiary by a personal text on their mobiles of money being sent to them from overseas.

Says a spokesman for Mr Ki Ge, the General Manager of Bank of China in London:” This is a new service which has just begun in New York but will shortly be coming to London. We arrange for a notification text message in Chinese characters to be sent to beneficiaries who are mobile phone subscribers on china Mobile and China Unicom.

“This is part of our service with 581 overseas branches in over 26 countries using one vast computer network for receiving, paying and clearing international capital. Under normal conditions a remittance can be transferred on the same day to the client’s local branch .”

Bank of China which now has a 10% interest by Royal Bank of Scotland, has been named as the sole banking partner of the Beijing Olympic games.
