Harris Corporation Names Retired Rear Admiral Gerald Woolever Senior Executive Account Manager for Homeland Security Programs

Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has named Rear Admiral Gerald Woolever (USCG-Ret.) senior executive account manager for the Department of Homeland Security Programs business area of Harris Government Communications Systems. He is based in the company’s Falls Church, Virginia office, which serves as headquarters for the Civil and IT services businesses.

In his new position, Woolever serves as the company’s primary interface to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and is responsible for building customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting related programs and pursuits.

“Jerry has more than 35 years of experience in operations, and program and project management with industry and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), including major acquisitions oversight, logistics systems development, human resources, and government relations in both the public and private sectors,” said Jeremy Wensinger, group president, Harris Government Communications Systems. “We are extremely pleased that he has joined Harris. His knowledge and background will be valuable assets in expanding our business opportunities with DHS.”

Most recently, Woolever was senior vice president of the Field Operations division at Innovative Logistics Techniques, Inc., where he was responsible for three business units serving DHS, the Public Sector, and the DoD. He previously was the program executive at The Boeing Company for USCG initiatives.

Woolever held numerous leadership assignments while serving in the United States Coast Guard, including Assistant Commandant for Human Resources; Commander of the 9th District, with responsibility for operations on the northern maritime border of the U.S.; Director of Coast Guard Streamlining; Chief of Acquisition; and Commander, Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific.

Woolever has a bachelor of science degree in engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, a master of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Rochester, and an MBA from the University of South Florida. He is on the of Board of Directors for EADS North America; a member of the HLS Executive Committee for the National Defense Industrial Association; a member of the Board of Directors of the National Capital Council Navy League of the U.S.; a member of the American Society of Naval Engineers; and a member of the American Society of Military Comptrollers and the Society of American Military Engineers.
