For the third consecutive year, Dow Building Solutions was awarded the prestigious “Partners of Choice Award” by David Weekley Homes, the third largest privately held home builder in the United States. Dow Building Solutions, a market facing business unit of The Dow Chemical Company and its affiliates, was presented the award at a ceremony held at the David Weekley Homes Headquarters in Houston, Texas.

David Weekley Homes selects the Partners of Choice Award recipients based on quarterly reviews conducted with 1,000 of its team members across all functions and levels of the organization, who rate the quality and service of approximately 150 suppliers. Since earning its first “A, A” rating and being named one of the Partners of Choice Award Winners in 2005, Dow Building Solutions maintained an “A” rating in both quality and service for an additional eight consecutive quarters. Dow Building Solutions is one of a handful of partners to earn this recognition for three consecutive years, which is a particularly significant accomplishment due to the fact that the survey results showed an overall improvement across all suppliers of approximately 18 percent per year.

“We are honored to receive this award from David Weekley Homes for a third consecutive year,” said John Hammer, North American Residential Marketing Manager, Dow Building Solutions. “This award recognizes Dow’s commitment to providing a solutions-based approach which allows us to better serve builders’ specific needs and to foster more conscientious building. It also speaks to the hard work, commitment and dedication of our channel partners and award winning account specialists, without which none of this would be possible.”

“The National Trading Partner Survey is an excellent tool for measuring and managing world-class excellence among our partners. Considering the comprehensive nature of the survey and the dynamic environment in which we operate, it’s very difficult for a trading partner to achieve an ‘A, A’ rating for a year. To maintain this level of excellence for three straight years is truly remarkable,” said Bill Justus, Vice President, Supply Chain Services for David Weekley Homes. “The survey results clearly show that, Dow is among the best in their class when it comes to delivering the building science know-how and service necessary for builders to be successful.”

Team Members at David Weekley Homes evaluated suppliers on two attributes, quality and service, on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being the highest. Each company’s numeric scores are averaged and then an alpha rating is assigned relative to its ranking with all other Weekley national trading partners. Alpha ratings range from A to F in 20 percent increments. Only 7% of David Weekley’s national trading partners maintained an “A” rating in both quality and service for the entire year. The survey’s approach for measuring and ensuring world-class performance is truly distinct. It is among best-in-class in determining a company’s overall success in delivering goods and services to its customers.
