Developing Business In Space

Oslo, Norway – The Norwegian sensor technology company PRESENS AS has appointed Mr. Peder Staubo to the position of Space Business Development Manager. Staubo will be responsible for cultivating new business development and product application opportunities with the company’s current and potential customer base within the space industry.

Over the last few years, Presens has participated in a number of research and development projects within the space sector and is currently developing a range of highly advanced pressure sensor technologies for applications such as satellites, launchers and propulsion. The addition of Staubo to their staff signifies an important step towards further commercialization of this technology.

Most recently, Mr. Staubo served as Sales Manager for OSI Optoelectronics AS, where he was responsible for global sales and developed business relations with ESA/ESTEC and other industrial leaders in the space and defence industries. He also worked collaboratively with research institutions and several universities towards business development and delivery of space qualified detectors.

Presens’ pressure sensing technology is today used in a wide array of applications worldwide. The proven success of their core sensor technology in extreme applications such as deep and ultra-deep subsea oil and gas wellheads led to interest from the space industry. Due to several key properties such as long-term stability, small size, large output signal, fast response and extreme robustness, Presens’ sensors are well-suited for space applications, offering numerous advantages over traditional pressure measurement technology in this challenging environment.
