Harris Corporation to Demonstrate Integrated Workflow Solutions at BIRTV 2007

WEBWIRE

At the Beijing International Radio, TV & Film Equipment Exhibition (BIRTV) 2007, Harris Corporation will showcase cutting-edge solutions that enable broadcasters to profit from new, multichannel services, seamlessly transition to HD, and more effectively project their on-air brand. BIRTV is being held August 22-25 in Beijing.

Core Processing
In core processing, Harris will showcase CENTRIO™, a breakthrough multi-image processor, combining a superior graphics engine, a robust broadcast-quality router, and integrated test and measurement tools. This marks the debut of CENTRIO™ in Asia. Uniquely capable of driving up to 32 independent DVI displays or 64 independent HD-SDI monitors, CENTRIO™ features a superior graphics engine that enables customizable image layouts.

Harris also will showcase the advanced audio processing and 3Gb/s capability across the company’s signal processing and distribution products — including the Platinum™ router — providing cost-effective, HD-compatible products supporting emerging standards such as 1080p. The high-capacity, small-footprint Platinum™ routing switchers provide high-quality signal routing up to 256x256 in 15RU and 512x512 in 28RU.

Visitors to the Harris stand will see expanded functionality in OPTO+™, a full range of fiber products in the Harris® 6800+™ modular core processing platform, providing high-quality, easy-to-use fiber solutions in a minimal amount of space. Also on display will be a variety of modules from the 6800+™ platform, including the Q-SEE6800+ signal monitoring module; and a variety of products in the NEO® advanced application modular platform, including NEO® SuiteView™; the NEO® XHD-3902-M multi-path up/down/cross converter; and the NEO® VR digital video recorder. Harris also will demonstrate the X75™ multi-path converter/synchronizer and the Neural-THX® Surround™ MultiMerge DTV production solution, which provides a 5.1 mix regardless of what audio signal is provided at the input.

Test and Measurement
In test and measurement, Harris will showcase the Videotek® TVM-950 multiformat HD/SD-SDI video/audio signal analyzer and the VTM-4100 multiformat, user-configurable test and measurement console, including new Chinese menu capabilities for the VTM-4100. The Chinese menu capabilities are also being integrated into all TVM series products as well as the VTM Series™ (VTM-3100 and VTM-4100). Visitors to the show will also be able to see new data-analysis parameters and file-correction tools in the Harris® Videotek® QuiC™ media analysis server as well as the new HD-STAR™ portable HD-SDI and SD-SDI generator and monitor.

Video Networking and Encoding
In video networking and encoding, Harris will demonstrate a suite of HDTV H.264 (MPEG-4 part 10) compression products for the NetVX™ platform that will enable new applications and services by allowing lower-bandwidth operation of HD services over satellite, terrestrial and IPTV delivery platforms. Harris will also display its Digital Turnaround Processor (DTP™).

Transmission
In the transmission area, Harris will showcase its new line of DMB 670 multimedia transmitters, which are RoHS-compliant at all power levels; and the Harris® ZX1000 1 kW FM transmitter from its ZX™ range of low-power FM transmitters. Visitors to the Harris booth can also see the debut of its new Chinese-standard DMB-T 40 watt transmitter model.

Master Control and Branding
In master control and branding, Harris will demonstrate the IconMaster™ SD/HD-ready modular master control/branding solution and IconLogo™ on-air branding solution.

Digital Signage
In the area of digital signage, Harris also will display its InfoCaster™ digital signage solution in an equipment demonstration and at various locations around the Harris booth. InfoCaster™ offers the ability to create, schedule, manage, distribute and deliver graphics, live video and dynamic data to a single local display or thousands of remote displays spread over a nationwide network.

Servers
In servers, Harris will showcase the NX3600HDI and NX3600HDX NEXIO XS™ transmission servers. Designed on a software-based codec model, the NEXIO XS™ server platform enables back-to-back playout of multiple formats on every channel, and is able to encompass new codecs the moment they become available. Harris will also demonstrate the NEXIO™ NX2050NLS near-line storage system and the NEXIO™ NXIQ clustered storage server. Harris also will preview the integration of the Harris® Velocity NX™ promo editor with Dixon Sports Computing’s video clip management tools, enabling the creation of high production-value HD/SD highlight packages in live sports broadcast environments.

Control and Monitoring
In control and monitoring, visitors to the Harris booth will see demonstrations of the cross-portfolio control of its NUCLEUS™ control panel and CCS Navigator™ control and monitoring application.
