Safety Concerns Regarding Lead in Toys Inundates EMSL Analytical

High Profile Toy Recalls Associated with Lead have Concerned Parents Reacting.

The high profile toy recalls associated with many of America’s most trusted toy manufacturers and brands in recent weeks has not gone unnoticed by parents.

In June of this year lead concerns were first raised with the recall by RC2 Corporation of painted wood children’s train toys. This was followed by Mattel’s recall of close to one million children’s toys in 83 types of products ranging from Elmo toys to Dora the Explorer. So far all of the questionable products have been produced in China.

“The calls started shortly after the initial news broke in June of the 1.5 million Thomas & Friends wooden railway product line and have only grown in volume,” stated Joe Frasca, Senior Vice President Marketing at EMSL Analytical. Under current regulations any toys with more than 0.06% lead are subject to recall.
