Hollywood Be Thy Name Exposes How Hollywood’s Influence Is Turning America Against God

Los Angeles—August 16-- In his latest book, Hollywood Be Thy Name: The Idol Makers, noted author/evangelist Ray Comfort explores the reasons why the film industry, which once produced godly films, has become predominantly anti-God. “The average Hollywood production,” Comfort notes, “uses the name of ‘God’ and ‘Jesus Christ’ more than the average sermon.”

According to Hollywood Be Thy Name, film scripts are not the sole source of the entertainment industry’s negative impact on society. Comfort also skillfully exposes the religious views of Hollywood’s elite, showing how celebrities not only promote immorality but also influence their audiences against biblical Christianity. Yet in the book he offers a strong suggestion on how Christians can stem this tide.

“Godly Jews won’t speak or even write the name of G-d because they consider it to be so holy. Yet we pay Hollywood actors to use it in blasphemy for our entertainment and pleasure,” writes Comfort, challenging readers to consider whether Christians should be entertained by the things that God finds grievous.
