Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has been awarded a 5-year Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) by the U.S. General Services Administration to provide integrated IT solutions that support federal agency missions. Harris was one of 29 companies to be awarded the initial Alliant contract, which has an additional 5-year option that brings the total 10-year contract ceiling to $50 billion.

Under the contract, Harris will compete with the other companies to provide a wide range of IT products and services to support federal agency needs in the United States and overseas. The Harris solutions will be designed to meet requirements for individual IT applications, general IT management, and overall IT infrastructure needs.

“Harris is extremely qualified to support the Alliant contract because of our legacy of innovation in providing IT services and our extensive experience in performance-based contracting,” said Jeremy Wensinger, group president, Harris Government Communications Systems. “We have successfully demonstrated these strong capabilities as the prime contractor on major GWAC and Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts with a wide range of civilian, intelligence and defense agencies.”

The company’s extensive experience with U.S. government services contracts includes developing and implementing major solutions for the FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI) program and the National Reconnaissance Office’s Patriot program, as well as holding key positions on major GWAC and IDIQ contracts such as NETCENTS, EAGLE, ITES-2S, FirstSource, NMCI, Networx Enterprise and others.

For the Alliant contract, Harris has developed a web portal where company partners can register opportunities they are working on, and a customizable set of management dashboards that will provide both the GSA and the customer agencies with a snapshot of performance for each individual task order request. The Harris Alliant web portal can be accessed at www.govcomm.harris.com/Alliant.
