cottrade becomes the online broker with America’s largest branch network

St. Louis,– The birthplace of the National Football League is now also the home of Scottrade’s newest branch office, making Scottrade the online broker with the largest branch network in America. The new office in Canton, Ohio – home of the NFL Hall of Fame – is Scottrade’s 306th nationwide. No other online investment firm in the country has more branch offices.

Local dignitaries along with Scottrade Founder and CEO Rodger Riney and Scottrade’s Canton branch manager, Christian Lucci, will be present at today’s grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. The branch office is located at 4356 Belden Village Ave. in the Belden Square Shopping Center in the Jackson Township.

“Reaching this milestone of operating the largest branch network in the online brokerage industry is a testament to the loyalty of our customers and the dedication of our associates,” Riney said. “We have been working hard to earn the trust of our customers over the past 27 years and we will continue to do so by offering new products and services and opening additional branch offices to serve our customers.”

“Ohio has been a great home for Scottrade and we are excited about expanding our presence in mid America to help individual investors reach their financial goals,” Lucci said. “It is only fitting that we celebrate this milestone here in Stark County, where so many other great achievements have been recognized.”

Scottrade was founded in 1980 as a discount brokerage firm in Scottsdale, Ariz. The company moved its headquarters to St. Louis and began offering online trading in 1996, one of the first brokerage firms to do so. While many brokerages closed their offices and offered their services strictly online, Scottrade continued to expand its branch network and grew by offering low commissions and personal customer service.

This combination of the latest technology for online investing and local branch offices has built customer satisfaction and loyalty. In May, Scottrade was recognized with the highest customer loyalty award by Brand Keys for the second consecutive year.

“Our local branch offices allow us to provide a better customer experience for our clients,” Lucci said. “While most of our customers trade online, they still value the convenience of a local branch office where they can develop a relationship with their local brokers and get personal and local assistance when they need it.”

Scottrade opens new branch offices in areas where many online investors live or work. Scottrade also considers the proximity and growth of neighboring branch offices and the area’s demographics. Scottrade has 13 branch offices in Ohio and 306 nationwide, in every major metropolitan area as well as in smaller communities, and the firm plans to continue to expand its branch network. Future locations for 2007 include Murietta, Calif.; Littleton, Colo.; and Danbury, Conn.

Scottrade’s Canton branch office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached at 330-491-1456.
