Citi Alternative Investments Expands Sales Team for Middle East Focus

Dubai – In a move that reflects Citi’s growing focus on the Middle East region, the firm today announced key appointments in institutional Middle East coverage within Citi Alternative Investments (CAI).

Jamal Al-Naif, Managing Director, CAI Institutional Sales, has been named to head up Citi’s institutional efforts in the Middle East. Jamal started his career in 1980 with Citibank Bahrain, where he worked in foreign exchange and money market sales and trading, then moved to London to become part of the investment banking division responsible for fixed income asset distribution to the Middle East region. In 1993 he became head of European Fixed Income Sales and 1995 he also became Head of Emerging Markets Sales. Since 2003, Jamal has been part of the CAI Middle East institutional sales group using Citi Jordan as a base.

Citi also announced the appointment of James Eldridge, Director, CAI Institutional Sales, where he will focus on our institutional clients and prospects in the Middle East. James has spent the last two years supporting Citi’s Global Wealth Management (GWM) channels as the CAI Middle East wholesaler. He will be involved in covering existing relationships and growing CAI’s institutional client base further.
