London — AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has announced that Rexam, one of the world’s leading consumer packaging groups and the world’s leading beverage can maker, has selected AT&T as its global networking partner in a three-year contract worth at least $4 million. According to the agreement, AT&T will provide Rexam with an Internet Protocol-based Virtual Private Network (VPN) and will advance Rexam’s future expansion capabilities by supplying a broad range of global networking services, from managed security services to IP telephony.
Rexam provides packaging solutions for the beverage, pharmaceutical, home and personal care, beauty and food markets with an estimated 100 manufacturing operations in more than 20 countries. In the terms of the agreement, AT&T will provide services to all of Rexam’s locations in Europe, the United States and Latin America.
“We have been impressed by AT&T’s ability to provide consistent, reliable and cost-effective services to our business across the globe,” said John Neal, chief technology officer of Rexam. “We pride ourselves on our way of working — the Rexam way — which is built on four values of trust, teamwork, continuous improvement and recognition. The Rexam way applies to all areas of the business, including the management of supplier relationships. As such, AT&T has proved without a doubt that it integrates well with this philosophy.”
