CILC Symposium to explore practical applications, issues and emerging trends related to videoconferencing’s value to support school improvement

Symposium designed for educators at all levels

INDIANAPOLIS – The CILC Symposium, title sponsored by AT&T, will convene educators from across the nation to address issues and opportunities related to interactive videoconferencing (IVC) and collaborative technologies. Participants will gather in Indianapolis for the event, slated for Tuesday, Nov. 13 – Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007. Additional participants will connect remotely via streaming and collaboration technologies.

The Format
Through Topical Panels, educators will join in-depth discussions ranging from new applications in videoconferencing and online collaboration technologies to international connectivity. Birds of a Feather sessions will enable participants with like roles and responsibilities to share their insights and challenges. Throughout the Symposium, colleagues and leaders in the field will have substantial opportunities to network. The Vendor Showcase will highlight the latest in collaborative technologies.

Sustainability
“The Symposium won’t end once the onsite event concludes,” said Ruth E. Blankenbaker, executive director of CILC, which is organizing the event. “Through the Online CILC Symposium Community, discussions and collaboration will continue indefinitely. Plus, both onsite and remote participants will have ongoing access to the archived webcasts.”

Participants
The CILC Symposium is designed to meet the needs of K-20 teachers, administrators, and media/technology/network specialists; state, consortia, and district leaders; IVC content providers and professional development providers; and collaborative technology vendors.

Registration
Onsite registration includes full access to the two-day event and the ongoing CILC Online Community.
