Targets approximately 20 million mobile subscribers throughout Southeast Asia with horoscopes, music downloads, karaoke and matchmaking services.

Framingham, MA - September 26, 2005 - NMS Communications (NASDAQ: NMSS), a leading provider of technologies and solutions for mobile applications and infrastructure, today announced that converging telecom solutions provider CONTARRA Systems has launched another deployment of its speech-enabled system built on NMS’s Open Access™ development platform. Grammy Thailand, a leading creator of multimedia entertainment content, is using the Contarra speech solution to make it possible for its 20 million mobile subscribers to download music, images and other content.

CONTARRA’s system is based on its core technology, CCPcs (Converging Communications Platform). CCPcs is used by major operators and enterprises worldwide for a range of specialized communication applications, including speech-driven services like Grammy Thailand’s innovative multimedia portal. With the CONTARRA system, Grammy Thailand will be able to generate additional revenues by offering mobile subscribers services such as music download, horoscope, fortune telling, “Grammy OKE” karaoke and “Love Meter” matchmaking service.

“Our wide customer base encompasses several markets, from telecom operators, to service providers, to system integrators. These customers rely on us to deliver scalable, flexible, carrier-grade solutions that converge the worlds of voice, mobile, data and Internet communications,” said Christopher Yap, vice president and general manager of CONTARRA Systems in Asia. “We rely on partners like NMS and technology like Open Access to provide the high density and availability we need to help our customers quickly roll out new and competitive value-add services.”

NMS’s Open Access family of media processing boards and APIs enables the creation of next-generation voice, data and video applications and services. With Open Access, developers can create enhanced communications services with reduced time-to-market and lower lifecycle costs.

“CONTARRA’s speech-enabled solution, built on highly reliable and scalable NMS technology, makes it incredibly easy for Grammy subscribers to use speech to request and listen to music, hear their fortune or even find a date – in a way that exceeds the traditional expectations of mobile users,” said Jonathan Sieg, vice president of Platform Solutions at NMS. “The CONTARRA solution is allowing Grammy Thailand to reach its goal of delivering multimedia entertainment that not only generates revenues, but uniquely enhances user satisfaction as well.”
