Carlos Alberto Ferreira Joins the Company as Chairman of SAP Brazil and José Ruy Antunes Takes Office as Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Latin America

MIAMI - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced two significant executive appointments for the company’s Latin American operations. Carlos Alberto Ferreira assumes the challenge of leading SAP to new business levels as chairman of SAP Brazil and José Ruy Antunes, after seven years as the chairman of SAP Brazil, will now take office as senior vice president of corporate affairs for SAP in Latin America.

As chairman of SAP Brazil, Ferreira’s main challenge will be reinforcing SAP’s global strategy in Brazil, which includes expanding the use of SAP business applications in the region and ensuring the success of the company’s vertical solutions. Extending the customer base among small and medium companies is another mission of the new chairman, who will focus on strengthening the network of partners implementing the SAP® Business One application and SAP® All-in-One solutions.

In a career spanning nearly 23 years, Carlos Alberto Ferreira is experienced in the areas of IT, telecommunications and services. He began his career at IBM Brazil and later worked in the IT department of Johnson & Johnson, where he was sent to the United States to work on international projects in the late 1990s. On his return to Brazil, Ferreira also had the opportunity to work at companies such as Digitel, Vivo, Diveo and Intelig, broadening his knowledge in the areas of marketing, sales and management. In 2005, he was invited to assume the presidency of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, a world leader in the traveling industry dedicated to business travelers, where he extended his experience in the areas of customer support and quality of services.

“I am thrilled to be joining a world-leading business software company like SAP and am confident that being part of the leadership team for SAP Brazil will be a very rewarding task,” said Ferreira. “Last year, SAP Brazil experienced a 64 percent growth in its turnover – stronger than the world average and above Latin America’s average, which was the best performance of the company worldwide. With the support of the top-quality staff at SAP Brazil, I look forward to continuing SAP’s market leadership in Latin America.”

José Ruy Antunes started work at SAP Brazil in 1996 and has been the head of the Brazilian subsidiary for seven years. Over this period, Antunes has been responsible for implementing a steady steam of development at SAP Brazil. In his new role as senior vice president of corporate affairs for SAP in Latin America and in alignment with SAP’s global programs, Antunes will strengthen groups of regional users, such as Americas’ SAP Users’ Group (ASUG) in Brazil, and will oversee a program launched in the beginning of 2007 for developing new SAP consultants. In addition, Antunes will support SAP’s global efforts to develop programs of social responsibility and will keep the communication channels even more open to the academic world and the Brazilian government.

“SAP is experiencing strong momentum both in Latin America and worldwide – with substantantial growth rates and regional averages,” said José Duarte, chairman of SAP Latin America. “In their new roles, Ferreira and Antunes will improve even further the level of assistance and satisfaction we deliver to our partners and clients, who today add up to more than one thousand companies in Brazil.”
