Credit Suisse’s Customized Fund Investment Group Broadens Platform with Additional Appointments

Private equity fund of funds business announces three additional hires.

New York,-Credit Suisse recently announced a number of appointments in the Customized Fund Investment Group (CFIG), the private equity fund of funds business within Alternative Investments, which manages USD 20 billion of assets on behalf of its clients.

Derek Jones has joined as a Partner and will focus primarily on making co-investment as well as on CFIG’s emerging manager practice; Arnaud Lipkowicz has joined as a Partner based in London and will focus on CFIG’s European efforts; and Mina Pacheco Nazemi has joined as a Vice President in Los Angeles focused on co-investing, as well as CFIG’s emerging manager practice.

Derek Jones is based in New York, where his responsibilities include managing client relationships as well as conducting due diligence on fund investments, particularly in the emerging manager area, as well as co-investments. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Derek was a Managing Partner at Oncore Capital, where he served as advisor to one of the largest bulge bracket investment banks in the country for the creation of a pledge fund in China. Derek was also a founding partner of Provender Capital, a middle market private equity fund, and started his private equity career at Prudential Insurance Co., where he spent 11 years. Derek received his MBA in Finance from NYU, where he also completed a graduate study program on European Integration, and received his B.A. in Economics from American University.

Arnaud Lipkowicz is based in London, and will focus on CFIG’s European efforts. Previously, he was a Vice President - Director of Investments for the LCF Rothschild Group in London where he co-founded and developed a European third-party private equity business focused on co-investments, secondary transactions and fund investments. Prior to that, Arnaud was a Senior Associate in the AXA - AIG Private Equity Funds-of-Funds group in New York. He holds degrees in Finance and Management from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and the Université Paris IX Dauphine as well as an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Mina Pacheco Nazemi is based in Los Angeles, where she will focus on diligence on emerging managers, as well as co-investments. Previously, she was a Senior Investment Associate in International Private Equity at GE Asset Management. While at GE, Mina deployed USD 140 million in six investments and invested over USD 500 million in private equity funds in the US, Europe, Canada, Asia and Latin America. Prior to that, she co-founded Innetvations Consulting, a technical consulting firm for small and medium sized businesses, where she led the firm’s business development and finance operations. Mina also worked for W.R. Hambrecht +Co as an Investment Analyst in public equities and for Prudential Global Asset Management as an Analyst in private placements. Mina holds a BA with Honors in Economics and Political Science from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
