AT&T Solution to Provide New Network Services for Industrial Distribution Company

Houston, Texas, -AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has announced a new contract to provide network services to Hisco Inc., a Houston-based, employee-owned specialty distribution company that serves the electronic assembly and other industrial markets.

Under the terms of the three-year contract, AT&T will serve as the primary network and data services provider to Hisco and will equip locations with AT&T’s Managed Internet Service (MIS) and MPLS Private Network Transport (PNT).

AT&T’s Internet Protocol (IP)-enabled platform will provide Hisco with expanded bandwidth and a reliable, private network that can be accessed simultaneously by any of Hisco’s branch sites throughout the United States. The solution will further provide necessary security features and services so that Hisco can share confidential customer records and critical treatment information across the network.

“We needed a cost-efficient, unified network platform to help improve communications with our various offices and our clients,” said Nelson Picard, vice president of IT for Hisco. “We’re confident that the AT&T PNT solution will help us enhance customer service and secure confidence in our network durability.”

Using this solution, Hisco will experience higher levels of efficiency through improved internal and external communications via AT&T’s MPLS network, which has achieved the industry’s highest levels of reliability and redundancy. In addition, the scalability of the solution will allow Hisco to add locations to the network infrastructure without jeopardizing bandwidth capacity.
