AOL announced today that Tiane Mitchell Gordon has been named Senior Vice President, Diversity and Inclusion, continuing to drive AOL’s efforts to ensure a more diverse and inclusive workplace. She reports directly to Chairman and CEO Randy Falco.

In the past 12 years at the company, Mitchell Gordon has worked to create a high-performance and inclusive culture for AOL’s employees. Under her leadership, AOL has embraced a list of “best practices” to encourage diversity and inclusion in the workplace:

- Diversity coaching and training program offered through a company-wide learning program

- Diversity speaker series that includes influential authors and leaders to discuss diversity in business and society today

- Employee resource groups to promote mentoring, support and community

“We are fortunate to have such a passionate and dedicated executive leading our diversity efforts,” Falco said. “Under Tiane’s direction, AOL has made good progress toward embedding these values into our corporate culture and making them a sustainable reality. And thanks to Tiane’s work, AOL better understands how diversity drives innovation and productivity among our employees and in the marketplace.”

“I’m proud to work at a company where the management recognizes diversity and inclusion for what it is – a source of tremendous strength,” said Mitchell Gordon. “The more diverse and inclusive we are as a company, the more innovative we can be, the more talent we can recruit and retain, and the better we can serve our global audience.”

As in her previous role as Vice President of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Mitchell Gordon manages all initiatives designed to foster inclusive attitudes and opportunities among employees.

She joined AOL in 1995 as Director of Human Resources and served in several areas of HR, ranging from strategy and policy to the integration of employees of newly acquired companies into the AOL workplace. Earlier in her career, Mitchell Gordon worked in human resources roles with Newfield Publications and Aetna Life & Casualty. She is a motivational speaker and a graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.
