Tyson Introduces New “Any’tizers™” Frozen Snack Line; Restaurant-style snacks designed for busy households

As part of an ongoing effort to provide consumers with fast and flexible foods options, Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE: TSN) is introducing a new line of restaurant-style frozen snacks called Tyson® Any’tizers™, company officials announced today.

Tyson Any’tizers can be consumed as appetizers but can also be used for almost any eating occasion, such as an afternoon or late night snack, a party or even as a light meal. They are made with high quality chicken in a variety of flavors and can be heated and ready to eat in just a few minutes.

The new products include Buffalo Style Boneless Chicken Wyngs™, Honey BBQ Boneless Chicken Wyngs™, Cheddar & Jalapeño Chicken Bites, Cheddar & Bacon Chicken Bites, Homestyle Chicken Fries and Ranch Flavored Chicken Fries. The Any’tizers line also includes some of Tyson’s existing snack products, such as Barbeque Style Chicken Wings and Popcorn Chicken.

“Americans snack almost as often as they eat regular meals because of the fast pace and demands of their lives.” said Shawn Walker, senior vice president, Value Added Meal Solutions for Tyson Foods. “We believe our new Any’tizers line will help meet consumer demands for great-tasting, protein-based snacks that offer versatility, variety and are easy to prepare.”

Any’tizers were consumer developed and approved through rounds of qualitative and quantitative testing conducted by Tyson. The research showed consumers view the products as appropriate for many eating occasions, including as part of a meal, a snack, a light meal and as an appetizer. Some of the items, such as the boneless chicken wyngs and chicken fries, have been popular menu items in restaurants.

The new product line is being sold nationwide, primarily through retail grocery outlets. The products will be supported by an integrated marketing plan that will include television and print ads, point of sale materials, and money saving coupons.
