Realnetworks Launches New Chinese Languaje Entertainment Site For Millions Of Chinese North Americans
Leading digital entertainment services company RealNetworks® has launched a Chinese language Movie and TV programming web site, Real Hao Kan (www.RealHaoKan.com). The site is designed for the 3.6 million people within the North American Chinese community who prefer entertainment in the Chinese language.
Real Hao Kan’s inaugural content includes a variety of full-length streaming media selections, including a growing library of on-demand Chinese language movies and television series. Frequent programming updates will deliver new titles regularly and keep available content fresh, interesting and valuable for members. Films featuring the most popular Chinese actors and directors are already available.
“As one of the largest and fastest growing nationalities in North America, many Chinese-Americans choose to speak Chinese at home and would rather access web content in their native language as well”, says Elizabeth Coppinger, vice president of Video Services at RealNetworks. “Real Hao Kan will fill a void for this vast community of computer-savvy individuals.”
RealNetworks’ plan is to develop RealHaoKan.com into a complete central source for Chinese Movies and TV entertainment. Cost for membership is 12.99 per month. A 14-day free trial is available and requires registration with a valid credit card (if service is cancelled during the 14-day free trial, no charges will be incurred). The site will soon add streaming Chinese radio stations, games, community forums and a downloadable digital magazine.
