EPA awards over $200,000 to Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry to administer pesticide program

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently awarded $220,917 to the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF). Under a cooperative agreement with EPA, the LDAF will ensure that pesticides are used according to label directions and that they are produced and/or distributed in Louisiana in compliance with the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). The LDAF will also use the funds to enhance pesticide worker safety programs, the endangered species program, and ground water protection.
