National Press Foundation’s Excellence in Online Journalism Award; Deadline Oct. 3

The National Press Foundation announces its fourth annual award for Excellence in Online Journalism. The award carries a $2,500 prize and will be presented at the Foundation’s annual black tie dinner, Feb. 23, 2006, at the Washington Hilton Hotel. Finalists will be selected by faculty from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University. The winner will be selected by representatives from the Newhouse School and NPF. Previous winners were washingtonpost.com and the VillageVoice.com. Deadline for applications is October 3, at 5 p.m.
There is no application form. Any online site dealing with journalism is eligible. Applicants should email us the following: The URL and a statement about the site and its unique properties. Include information about journalistic achievements in 2004/05. Contact information including name, email and direct phone number. Email applications to npf@nationalpress.org.
