New INTSPEI Technology Will Prevent Software Engineers from Making Costly Analysis and Design Mistakes

WEBWIRE

NEW YORK - KIEV, June 21, 2007 - The International Software and Productivity Engineering Institute (INTSPEI, http://www.intspei.com) announced today the roadmap for its P-Modeling technology, which enables software development companies to shorten development lifecycles while improving software quality.

Today a major problem of large software projects is that the most important decisions and most expensive mistakes occur at the beginning of the project. As the development moves forward, the cost of mistakes goes down. At the same time, the initial amount of quality control is minimal, increasing as development progresses. This results in costly rework (often hidden), done on the late stages of the project.

P-Modeling allows reducing delays between bug insertions and bug fixes. It enables distribution of quality control over the entire project almost proportionally to the importance of (possible) errors. The critical mistakes are discovered and fixed when introduced. The total number of bugs decreases since inserted bugs are less likely to produce new ones. This reduces the overall project size and improves the quality of final deliverables.

When announcing the roadmap, INTSPEI Chairman, Vladimir L Pavlov said: "Currently INTSPEI offers consulting services that help our clients re-engineer and optimize their software development processes and deploy P-Modeling. In Q4 2007 INTSPEI will release two products that will support and enable much wider use of P-Modeling: INTSPEI P-Modeling Framework and INTSPEI P-Explorer.

P-Modeling Framework is an interactive guide and toolset supporting the methodology. Installed as an extension to Rational Unified Process or Microsoft Solutions Framework, it will allow current users of RUP or MSF to benefit from integrating P-Modeling into their development lifecycles. In Q2 2008 the next, stand-alone version will be released, targeting users whose SDLCs are not based on MSF or RUP. Together with the Framework, INTSPEI will publish P-Explorer – a “Mission Control Center” for software development projects, allowing managers to fully control the integral status and dependencies between all the project deliverables, regardless of what tools/technology are used to produce them".

About INTSPEI

The International Software and Productivity Engineering Institute (http://www.intspei.com) is a multinational corporation with offices in New York and Kiev (Ukraine). It was founded in the first quarter of 2007 to develop and distribute advanced software engineering methodologies based on the original award-winning research conducted by its founders since 2001.
