Temporary Closure Of I-610 nN New Orleans Sunday Morning

Power line work scheduled for Sunday, June 24, 8 a.m.-10 a.m.

New Orleans, La. – Installation of overhead power lines will cause temporary closure of I-610 between West End Boulevard and Canal Boulevard on Sunday, June 24. At 8 a.m., the New Orleans Police Department will close all lanes of the interstate for approximately two hours until the work is completed. All traffic must proceed on I-10 while I-610 is inaccessible.

The overhead power lines were accidentally torn down by an 18-wheeler on Tuesday, June 12, but service was not interrupted to Entergy New Orleans customers. At the time, the lines had been de-energized while crews replaced wooden poles along the interstate with new steel poles.
