Panasonic, a world-leader in consumer phones, today announces the availability to order GLOBARANGE through its exclusive launch partner, Amazon.com – giving consumers a flexible and convenient phone option with two distinct ways to communicate: traditional landline connection or via the Internet. GLOBARANGE’s innovative two-line connection makes it easy and affordable for consumers to stay in touch with friends and family both locally and internationally. Worldwide pre-orders of GLOBARANGE are available exclusively at Amazon.com, including a buy-one, get-one-free offer.

“Available in 12 countries, GLOBARANGE makes it easier to reach your global community of friends and family,” said Bill Taylor, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company, VP, Communications Solutions Group. “Because GLOBARANGE offers free peer-to-peer calls with other GLOBARANGE users, Amazon.com’s buy-one, get-one-free offer allows consumers to get connected to their communities faster.”

Currently taking global pre-orders, Amazon.com offers GLOBARANGE in two models, the BB-GT1500B with one handset for $99.95 and the BB-GT1540 with one handset and digital answering system for $129.95. GLOBARANGE phones, which feature call waiting, caller ID and handset speakerphones are available in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Austria and Russia.

“We are thrilled to be the exclusive retailer for GLOBARANGE and work with Panasonic on this exciting launch,” said Paul Ryder, Vice President, Consumer Electronics, Amazon.com. “Amazon is committed to being a place where customers can find and discover anything they want online, and GLOBARANGE’s many features can meet the varying needs of our global customers.”

According to Clear Horizons, a market research firm based in Princeton, N.J., that specializes in the consumer technology industry, consumers demand flexibility, simplicity, and cost savings in their communications solutions.

“GLOBARANGE is unique in that it is a highly innovative product from a technology standpoint – as it bundles three call methods into a single device, but to the consumer, quite simply –GLOBARANGE is an easy-to-use phone that makes calling affordable,” said Andy Cross, President and CEO of Clear Horizons. “Our research indicates that GLOBARANGE is appealing because it provides consumers freedom and flexibility to make calls ‘their way’ whether peer-to-peer with other GLOBARANGE users, through a traditional landline or via the Internet.”

GLOBARANGE’s Internet-calling capability is provided exclusively by joip™, the newly formed consumer brand of deltathree Inc. (NASDAQ: DDDC), and offers free peer-to-peer calls with other GLOBARANGE users worldwide with no service contract. In addition, with joip’s premium service offer, consumers are able to maintain their existing home phone number and 911 services. Using joip’s advanced VoIP services for GLOBARANGE is user-friendly and does not require any software downloads or complicated set-up. Customers simply connect their joip enabled GLOBARANGE phones to a broadband connection and are instantly entered into the joip community of free calling.

Additional joip features available to GLOBARANGE users at affordable rates include ringtones, text messaging, call forwarding and voice message notification via e-mail. In addition, GLOBARANGE users will have access to the joip community directory and SoftPhone, which is a virtual handset that allows users to make and receive calls through any computer – making it the perfect application for the home and while traveling. GLOBARANGE owners can download a SoftPhone at www.joip.com.

“Until now, making phone calls over the internet has primarily been aimed at the early adopter,” said Tomer Treves, deltathree’s Managing Director, Consumer Group. “With joip-enabled GLOBARANGE phones, consumers can now experience the advanced features of our VoIP services on an easy-to-use Panasonic phone.”
