AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) has announced a new contract to provide network services to Critical Care Systems International, Inc., a national provider of specialty infusion services that has headquarters in Nashua, N.H., and 42 branch pharmacies throughout 28 states.

Under the terms of the three-year contract, AT&T will serve as the primary network and data services provider to Critical Care Systems and will equip Critical Care Systems’ headquarters and all branch locations with AT&T’s Internet Protocol (IP)-enabled Virtual Private Network (VPN) services.

AT&T IP-enabled VPN will allow Critical Care Systems to take advantage of expanded bandwidth, which will provide a reliable, private network that can be accessed simultaneously by any of Critical Care Systems’ branch sites regardless of geographic location. The VPN solution will also provide necessary security features and services so that Critical Care Systems can share confidential customer records and critical treatment information across the network.

“We needed a cost-effective, unified network platform to help improve productivity and streamline communications,” said Ron Lindahl, chief technology officer, Critical Care Systems. “We’re confident that the AT&T VPN will deliver those benefits while providing the reliability and security features we need in order to serve our customers.”

Using this solution, Critical Care Systems will experience higher levels of efficiency through improved internal and external communication via AT&T’s MPLS network, which provides the highest levels of reliability and redundancy. In addition, the flexibility of the VPN will allow Critical Care Systems to add locations to the network without jeopardizing bandwidth capacity.
