Florida State University ’Welcome Back to School’ Event Honors Recently Returned Students and Alumni Who Served in Iraq; Soldiers to be Honored During Military Appreciation Game with The Citade

WHAT: Ten students and alumni who served as soldiers in Iraq will be recognized during festivities at Florida State University’s game against The Citadel, as part of the Army’s Operation Tribute to Freedom “Welcome Back to School” initiative -- a program to thank returning students, faculty, staff and alumni Soldiers for their service in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Over 20 colleges and universities nationwide will participate in the “Welcome Back to School” initiative by recognizing student, faculty, staff and alumni Soldiers during football games, homecoming parades, recognition ceremonies and other special events throughout the year.

In-studio and telephone interview opportunities are available immediately with participating soldier-students and soldier-alumni.

WHEN: Sept. 10 at 6:45 p.m.

WHERE: Doak Campbell Stadium, Florida State University, Tallahassee, Fla.
