Alcatel-Lucent transforms communication networks for a personalized end-user experience

WEBWIRE

Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced its plans to demonstrate its leadership in the transformation of communication networks at the NXTcomm 2007 trade show, which will run from June 19th to June 21st at McCormick Place in Chicago.

On its booth # 3922, Alcatel-Lucent will highlight technologies, systems and services that enable service providers to transform their services, networks and business to deliver secure, personalized applications and services to their customers. Today, end-users require a multitude of voice, video, data and multimedia capabilities that can be available on any screen, anywhere, anytime. Alcatel-Lucent offers carriers the ability to provide a quality of experience end-users expect to enhance their lives.

Demonstrations

Among a wide range of demonstrations, Alcatel-Lucent will feature:

Blended Multi Screen Experience: This highlight area will show how content can be shared across three different screens -TV, mobile, PC- whether the user is at home or on-the-go to provide a simple, personal and predictable entertainment experience.
Enhancing Triple Play Service Delivery: Alcatel-Lucent transforms networks to deliver a superior end-user Quality of Experience at an optimized total cost of ownership
Triple Play on Demand for Unsurpassed QoE: real-time Video-On-Demand session admission control across the QoS-enabled TPSDA infrastructure
Service Aware Management: Integrated network and service management for next-generation converged IP/Ethernet/MPLS multi-service network
Mobile IP Transformation: Supporting voice, TV, multimedia and data services with high reliability, availability, and guaranteed QoS - efficiently allocating network resources real time
Carrier Ethernet and Managed VPNs: The preferred networking foundation to enable flexible, always on triple play and managed business VPN services, and to improve the efficiency and operational cost of optical transport
Community Services with IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS): The demo will feature a full suite of communication features, such as voice, IM and video designed for communities with a specific look and feel. Features include automatic content sharing, location finding, rich presence/buddy list, shared address-book and job lists, paging/alerting and web-log.
Business Productivity Solution with IMS: The demonstration will highlight an innovative sales portal application showing how IMS technology can improve employees’ productivity and effectiveness by having quick access, from any device, to the right information at the right time.
Targeted Content Services: The solution will highlight an integrated suite of products that supports flexible content management, merchandising and delivery across multiple device types and content/media types, allowing service providers to maximize content revenues while increasing operational efficiencies.
Universal WiMAX for Collaborative Enterprise Applications: This solution illustrates Alcatel-Lucent’s unique end-to-end capabilities, combining broadband on-the-go over WiMAX with enterprise and consumer end-user services. The end-user application blends IM, Presence, Application sharing, and VoIP/video conferencing for professional/enterprise collaboration.
Alcatel-Lucent will also showcase for the first time a Business Transformation theater, which will host a Services seminar series. This will highlight a series of business, network and services transformation presentations that will demonstrate Alcatel-Lucent’s ability to offer end-to-end solutions while managing risk and complexities inherent in large-scale transformation projects. These presentations will include topics such as network outsourcing, IP Transformation, OSS/BSS solutions, subscriber data management solutions, services transformation, triple play, and network and maintenance support.
